Piqua Porkpie
Piqua Porkpie
This traditional pork-pie hat is a black felt style famously worn by jazz musicians. With a diamond shaped pinched crown and a slightly up-turned short brim, this is an easy wear for those who are brim shy but still want to be “a hat person.”
Please note the photo has a band that is not present on the hat you will get

WHAT’S IN A NAME
Piqua, pronounced Pick-Way, is the birth place of actor Buster Keaton, who was born into a Vaudeville family. The Pork Pie was a common hat worn during the Civil war, but Keaton made this hat famous again in the 1920s.
Pork Pie hats were also worn by mid-century Jazz musicians. Charles Mingus has a song named Good Bye Pork Pie Hat that was recorded in 1959. If you have never given the song a listen, here’s your chance.
